The facts about climate change should not be in dispute. But what should the working class be doing about it?
And why is the capitalist class so wedded to the policy of achieving net zero, whatever the costs in soaring energy prices for households and industries?
Net zero policy is held up as the unarguable response to climate change. This prevents debate about effective adaptation. And it brings a dogmatic approach which undermines energy security, with widespread impacts on industry and life in Britain.
Does this have to be the case? Workers question the claims of new green jobs replacing old industries and are sceptical about many net zero policy decisions. But a wider debate is needed.
