Some groups of doctors have settled pay claims for now. But others are fighting for rises.
Train drivers’ union Aslef has reached agreement with the incoming Labour government to resolve a pay dispute in most of the passenger train operators. It has involved 18 days of strikes.

Doctors have kept their focus on pay, making significant progress. They have not been diverted by the change of government; settlement for junior hospital doctors in England is a priority.
Hospital consultants in England have voted to accept a pay offer. The offer will see most consultants receive increases of between 2.9 and 12.8 per cent on top of 6 per cent already offered in November 2023.
